m&m's - Morals & Meanings in Art

Arabic Calligraphy is a sacred art. It is the highest art form along with the recitation of the Quran in the Islamic world. Due to the religious prohibition on sculptures, Muslim artists concentrated their artistic skills in calligraphy and achieved many distinctive patterns and styles. As new cultures came in contact with Arabic script they adapted the writing style and added unique fonts or styles to Arabic script. This Blog is a consortium of deciphering old Arabic scripts and a case for new style of art in the West. The focus of the Art Society 114 is to seek out young and upcoming artists and give them tools and a platform to display their talent via calligraphy.
